Did he get it right? The [Semi?] Formal White Tie
Sep 28th, 2007 | By Irie Diva | Category: Male StyleMy friend Darren is a fellow self-professed fashion guru. Always the trendsetter, he has gone as far as to dabble in altering designs to change it up a little, setting himself apart from the rest. I think he gets it right 90% of the times, he’s always fresh and always fly! I just love it when a man has his style game together. This here time tho…I’m not too sure. He’s quite proud of the fact that he’s pulled off his white tie look at his friend’s wedding, however I’m of the view that a white tie does not match with a cream pants! I’m gonna throw this one out to you guys to determine if i’m paranoid or if he did get it right indeed. I’m thinking it would’ve only worked if he had on a cream jacket to match? I dunno y’all… this one goes out to you. So tell me, did he get it right?
Don’t kill me Dee you know I love you!

hey, who said i cant comment on maself… it about contrast now a days, you kinda wanna mix it up, but not too loud, and i think i accomplished that… what u think?
Yeah, I think he did a lot of justice to the mix match look.
i luv It…i think everybody shloud wear a white tie with cream pants….a white pants would have looked too boring.
Go de DEE..u looking good!
I don’t see nutten wrong with the combination
I’m not opposed to it as I see it here. But somehow I feel like if I saw him on the road I’d view it thru hater shades and think “OK Grey is in - but Creme and White is not cool.
The white tie with the greyish blueish shirt is good but the khaki pants threw off the outfit. He should have worn a dark color pants to complete the outfit
Agreeing that the khaki pants threw off the outfit..
The white tie/grey-blue shirt combo not so bad..
The three pieces together i think no working so well..
the khaki pants/grey-blue shirt wud need a different tie..if it were to work.
I voted that he could have done better simply because the white tie was a real eye sore. It goes with neither the shirt, nor the khaki pants i.e: It couldn’t have been paired with either one of them alone, much less to be grouped with both.
I can’t believe he actually wore that to a wedding…especially since he is deemed a “fashion guru.”
Better him did wear a jeans and t-shirt to the “deading”
personaly i don’t think is match at all… probably wouldn;t even notice it if i was there at the wedding but not working… throw away the tie..
i bet him did have a white shoe fi match the tie?…
Rainman stop!!! bout the deading look at you too nuh
and I’m sure Dee did no thave on white shoes jus kirrout LOL
it’s aight
the shirt is what killed it for me
bwoy that coulda work if the tie did likkle shorter and him a bus a jacket that matc the pants and or a vest with cream and white paterns/maybe a deep brown vest would have worked too
Dez i’m with u on the jacket matching the pants bit
The tie takes your eyes away from every thing else and that is a big no no in dressing .. the tie is much too loud and there is no way to balance it even if he hgad on a pair of white shoes it would not have work … but i give him a A+ for the innovative idea though good try Darren
white shoes???????? ROFL!!! no i reall think a jacket to match the pants woulda made it OK
ok
No, he didn’t get it right a black or perfectly matching grey tie would be best.
the tie….
it’s juss not workin
hmm…not too sure bout dem pants still!..or the tie with the pants..maybe if he wore a tie with creams or browns in it it would a look betta. not a plain one either, some design. I think Cream and white are nice together but dat blue shirt threw me.. 2 me theres too much wrong with this combination of colours
