Natasha is not a household name yet but she has every intention of getting there. She did what any aspiring model should do to get a kick start, entered Pulse’s Caribbean Model Search in 2005, and her professional modelling career took off from there. She’s only 5′4, which probably won’t get her too many runway gigs but she’s done pictoral campaigns for several local corporations islandwide, been featured on party teasers and flyers and has done a few MC gigs here and there. Natasha knows that her height probably won’t get her to Grace Jones’ heights…but she has a plan.

Where do you hope to take your modeling career?

I would like to move from still shots into motion picture. I intend to develop my artistry there and put my country on the map where that is concerned.

Let’s get to know pre-movie star Natasha

What motivated you to get involved in the field?

I  have wanted to be in the industry for as long as I can remember, from the time of strutting before a full length  mirror and mock photo shoots as a kid – lol. The appeal has simply grown as an adult and there are so many avenues in Jamaica right now to make the dream possible!

Who inspires you/who do you aspire to be like?

I draw inspiration from a host of people, so that’s a real difficult question. What I most admire about anyone in the field though is their ability to be unique, have a certain kind of flair and the sought after ‘it’ factor.

What have you done so far in your modeling career?

I have done nationwide brochures for Miphone and the UWI Credit Union, Teasers for Parties, and have MC’ d several shows . I have also appeared as a leading lady in One third’s latest music video ‘ Take my breathe away’ , and in a short film “Better mus Come” that was entered in the Film Festival in Negril, Dec’ 06.

You were recently a runner-up in miss global jamaica, tell us about that accomplishment?

That in itself was an experience as  it was my first time doing a national pageant. Though I didn’t come away taking the crown, I gained a great deal as it regards my personal and professional development. I got the firsthand experience that I felt was needed and you might see me in the Pageant world again pretty soon!

What else do you do for fun?

Well, in my personal life I’m very much laid back. I have fun just simply sharing laughs with my close friends; movies, dinner – basically anything with an intimate gathering of people. I’m also very adventurous and will do almost anything simply because it’s ‘taboo’ – for a good laugh that is.
