Brand new look, same fabulous Fashion Over Style! Do you like it? I’m still playing around with the colour scheme so you may see a few changes over the next couple of days…but I am so in love with the new layout! Are you as excited as I am? I’m open to your suggestions and feedback so lets hear! After all, FOS is for us all to enjoy. Welcome to the new Fashion Over Style! Our new site’s now launched and I’m so proud of it. Please tell me what you think, all thoughts and suggestions welcome. Thanks to Keneea who gave me her beautiful designs to be used on the site which I made into my new banner. I am compiling a shopping page to be incorporated in the site. Your input welcome here. Well fashion has taken a backseat to clean up efforts and the seemingly never-ending wait on water and light to return after Hurricane Dean came through and broke all my trees. My ackee tree was downed *tears* don’t get me started on that ackee tree man, yes I really LOVE ackee and salt fish and dumpling and banana or rice and peas. For the foreigners, ackee and salt fish is pictured below with breadfruit and boiled dumplings. Jamaica’s national dish (well not the dumpling part, lol), and Dean took away my tree!!!!!! Ah yes so while I mourn the loss of my tree I thank the heavens that I am still here to mourn and encourage all to stay tuned for the latest fashion updates to take you away from the muck and debris still surrounding us.

Hello everybody
Before I begin on the journey of bringing you fashion from a Jamaican perspective, I thought I’d at least introduce myself and share with you my aim.

I am Irie Diva: Goddess of Style. A diva by birth and irie by nature. If you’re not familiar with the term irie, it simply means easy-going, laid back, positive vibes. Its the feeling of this beautiful island in the Caribbean. So I’m a diva, but not a stuck up diva…I’m irie
But what makes me this diva though? I have an innate love for fashion and all things glamourous. While pursuing conventional forms of study and work, looking good was always what I did for fun. I’ve been criticized many times for either looking really good or looking really weird cus hey I have my own style and I don’t want to look like the rest…but I always got props for my style though. More and more friends would come to me for fashion advice and I liked referring to myself as their personal stylist.

As I got older I realised that this is the industry I wanted to be in. I wasn’t quite sure how and I didn’t have much money to start. I worked at a model agency for a bit, and it helped to point me in this direction. No, I don’t want to be a fashion designer, no, i don’t want to open up a boutique. I want to mix my love for media and all things glamourous and bring to you the information you need to know! Fashion, Jamaica style!
